Scaffolding as an aid in construction and maintenance has
been in use for more than 5000 years with its first mentions of the Chinese and
the Egyptians. Therefore, scaffolding has been fundamental to the progress of mankind.
Bamboo, one of the most basic elements used for a long time in scaffolding has
been called the "grass that built Asia."
However, as time progresses, superior, safer and more
versatile materials and designs have been made available for scaffolding. The
complexity and aesthetics of the design, as well as the large scale of modern
projects, build, demand safer and multipurpose scaffolding that can withstand
work at height and at the same time guarantee the safety of workers.
There are several different forms of scaffolding in terms of
their shape and structure, such as trestle scaffolding, steel scaffolding,
patented scaffolding, cantilever scaffolding, suspended scaffolding, simple
scaffolding and double scaffolding.
These forms are based on the nature of the work and the type
of raw material that is used to give rise to the scaffolding.
Based on the mechanism used in scaffolding and types of
systems, we have tube and accessory scaffolding, H-frame scaffolding, cuplock scaffolding, ring-blocking scaffolding.
Ring blocking scaffolding is considered the most modern,
versatile and capable scaffolding system in terms of its load resistance. The
different components used in the ring-blocking scaffolding are multiple books,
clamps, railings, connectors, stair rails, steps and adapters.
The 5 reasons to use ring lock scaffolding are:
1) Provides a greater degree of flexibility to block a
different number of angles and accurately align 45o / 90o using the notch.
2) It offers up to 8 connections to be present within
different segments of the system in a single rosette arrangement that can be
automatically locked using an adaptive wedge, using a hammer.
3) It offers the best stability of the frame body in its
class with the support of the complete vertical bar, bar, horizontal-diagonal
and vertical-diagonal structure in the 3D space that provides a complete
lattice system.
4) The commonly used ring lock scaffolding material is hot
or cold galvanized with anti-corrosion technology to ensure longevity and reliability
of the components.
5) They are quick and easy to assemble from their few
components that offer ease of storage and transport.
In addition to these reasons, it has been shown that the
load capacity of the ring-blocking scaffold is better than that of its
counterparts. The flexibility and the option offered by rosette geometry are
not only unique, but also allow several different types of construction through
slab formwork, bridge formwork, etc.
Scaffolding is an integral part of our construction, construction
and related maintenance work. Therefore, choosing the right type of scaffolding
is necessary not only for safer work at height but also to improve construction
times.
Storage and transportation of scaffolding raw materials can
cause delays, especially at large construction sites, and the components of
ring-blocking scaffolding can help reduce these problems. Faster assembly times
can also lead to labor cost savings. While longevity means they enjoy a longer
life, which increases reuse. This helps control costs to buy new scaffolding
material, especially in intensive operations.
